Welcome Kids, Parents and Teachers!
Welcome to Wisconsin's Water Library for Kids!

This collection of children's books is made up primarily of water-related titles that have won awards or appeared on best books lists. If there were no award-winning books on a water topic, we chose books that received favorable reviews and, if nonfiction, were reliable sources of information. Most books are for young children (preschool through second grade), although we also have materials for older children and young adults. The collection includes both fiction and nonfiction books and many kid-friendly videos.

How does the Water Library for Kids work?

Any Wisconsin resident can check out books for free! See our How do I check out a book? page for more information. You can always send a message to askwater@aqua.wisc.edu with any questions you might have and we'll see if we can help.

How do you find what you need? Users can browse our book lists organized by topic. Each book notes which age group the title is written for. Besides lists of recommended books, we have lists of our children's videos, story hour ideas and a section just for kids. There is also a cool list of water facts about Wisconsin and the mighty Great Lakes.

Happy reading!!
